Chinese Furniture Importers Sue US Over Duty Rates

Law360, New York (September 2, 2010, 6:43 PM EDT) -- A group of companies that export Chinese wooden bedroom furniture to the U.S. sued the U.S. Department of Commerce on Thursday, claiming that the agency should have looked only at labor rates in the Philippines when calculating surrogate rates for anti-dumping duties.

Importers Coaster Co. of America and Trade Masters of Texas Inc., along with furniture manufacturers COE Ltd. and Langfang Tiancheng Furniture Co. Ltd., claim that Commerce made several errors in its review of anti-dumping duties for the Chinese imports for 2008.
