US Steel Joins Tata Case Over 577% Duty

Law360, New York (September 2, 2010, 6:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of International Trade has allowed U.S. Steel Corp. to take part as a defendant in Tata Steel Ltd.'s case contesting a record 577 percent countervailing duty on certain hot-rolled steel products.

Judge Donald C. Pogue signed off Wednesday on an order permitting U.S. Steel to intervene on behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Representatives for U.S. Steel and Tata were not immediately available for comment.
