Novartis MDL Plaintiffs Told Not To 'Abuse' Sealed Docs

Law360, New York (September 03, 2010, 5:16 PM ET) -- A federal magistrate judge has scolded plaintiffs' attorneys for “abuse” of their leeway to file documents under seal in multidistrict litigation against Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. over the drugmaker's alleged failure to warn patients that bone-cancer drugs Aredia and Zometa could cause their jawbones to deteriorate.

Magistrate Judge Joe Brown of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said Thursday that if attorneys continued inappropriately filing documents under seal he would require them to make specific motions to file sealed documents.
