Sierra Club Sues Luminant Over Power Plant Emissions

Law360, New York (September 3, 2010, 10:56 AM EDT) -- The Sierra Club has accused Energy Future Holdings Corp. and subsidiary Luminant Generation Co. LLC of committing more than 50,000 Clean Air Act violations at a coal-fired power plant in eastern Texas.

The environmental group filed a complaint Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming that Luminant's Martin Lake Power Plant near Longview, Texas, consistently ranks among the dirtiest in the nation and is the worst mercury polluter among all U.S. plants of its kind.
