Peanut Corp. Salmonella Settlements Approved

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 1:28 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has agreed to let bankrupt Peanut Corp. of America settle tort claims with more than two dozen victims of a 2008 salmonella outbreak at the company’s facilities.

In a series of orders issued Friday, Judge Norman Moon of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia gave the green light to 32 separate settlements between PCA and individual plaintiffs who became sick or whose family members died after eating the company’s salmonella-tainted peanut products.
