Tropicana Noteholders Lose Appeal For $2M Legal Tab

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 7:11 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has shot down an appeal by Tropicana Entertainment LLC noteholders trying to recoup more than $2.3 million in legal costs they amassed in a maneuver to oust the bankrupt casino operator's former owner.

The bankruptcy court did not err when it denied the noteholders’ application for that money in September 2009 after finding that they would have pursued those efforts regardless of any reimbursement from the estate, Judge Sue L.
