Estee Lauder, Oxis Resolve Antioxidant Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 5:36 PM EDT) -- Estee Lauder Cos. Inc. has resolved a decades-long dispute with Oxis International over patents relating to a molecule with antioxidant properties.

Estee Lauder and its subsidiary, the Melville, N.Y.-based Applied Genetics Incorporated Dermatics, come to an agreement allowing Oxis full title of two patents in exchange for Estee Lauder receiving a nonexclusive license for the patents in the cosmetic market, Oxis said Tuesday.
