Canner's Price-Fixing Suit Against US Steel Nixed

Law360, New York (September 07, 2010, 5:10 PM ET) -- A federal judge has thrown out Stanislaus Food Products Co.'s complaint against U.S. Steel Corp., USS-POSCO Industries and others over an alleged conspiracy to fix prices for tin-plated steel used to make cans, but left the door open for the tomato canner to amend its claims.

Judge Lawrence J. O'Neill of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California signed off on an order Friday granting the defendants' dismissal bids but allowing Stanislaus leave to amend "in strict conformance" with the ruling.
