HP Tries To Block Former CEO's Move To Oracle

Law360, New York (September 7, 2010, 6:52 PM EDT) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. has filed a trade secrets and breach of contract suit against recently departed CEO Mark Hurd, in an effort to keep him from joining rival technology giant Oracle Corp. as co-president.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP lodged the suit Tuesday in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Santa Clara, alleging that Hurd cannot do his job at Oracle without using and disclosing HP’s trade secrets and claiming that the move is in violation of his confidentiality agreement.
