Managers Sue Valspar Over OT Exemption

Law360, New York (September 09, 2010, 5:14 PM ET) -- Valspar Corp. managers have filed a putative class action claiming the company unlawfully exempted them from overtime wage laws, forcing them to work as many as 80 hours a week without extra compensation.

Valspar violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and several statutes of the California Labor Code by deeming the plaintiffs ineligible for overtime pay, according to a complaint lodged Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
