Execs Arrested For Illegal Hires, Tax Evasion

Law360, New York (February 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Three executives at a janitorial contracting company have been arrested and charged with evading $18.6 million in employment taxes by hiring illegal immigrants.

According to an indictment that was unsealed Thursday, RCI Inc. President Richard M. Rosenbaum, Vice President Edward Scott Cunningham and Controller Christina A. Flocken failed to collect and pay federal income, Social Security and Medicare, and federal employment taxes.

The executives then created several shell companies and bank accounts to hide their excess funds from the Internal Revenue Service, the indictment said. The...
