Mayer Brown Race Bias Suits Consolidated

Law360, New York (September 9, 2010, 12:37 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has consolidated two race bias suits brought by a former Mayer Brown LLP associate who alleges that leaders at the firm’s Charlotte, N.C., office harassed and ultimately fired her because she is black.

Judge Martin Reidinger of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina issued an order Tuesday granting the parties’ joint motion to consolidate. He then designated the first lawsuit, brought in May 2009, as the lead case, and closed the second, brought in August.
