DirectSat Avoids Sanctions In OT Class Action

Law360, New York (September 13, 2010, 4:00 PM ET) -- Satellite installation technicians suing DirectSat USA LLC and Unitek USA LLC for overtime pay have failed to win sanctions over the defendants’ record-keeping but secured an order compelling production of key discovery documents.

On Thursday, Magistrate Judge Stephen L. Crocker of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin refused to sanction Unitek subsidiary DirectSat for failing to preserve digital information plaintiffs argued contained important payroll and human resources data.
