Law360, New York (September 13, 2010, 4:51 PM ET) -- Nearly 50 residents of Clinton, Iowa, have brought a nuisance suit against Archer Daniels Midland Co., claiming the consumer giant’s biodegradable plastics plant is bombarding them with deafening noises and noxious fumes.
The complaint, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, alleges the plastics plant is a public and private nuisance and seeks a permanent injunction to force the plant halt its most offensive actions.
