HP Buying Spree Continues With $1.5B ArcSight Deal

Law360, New York (September 13, 2010, 11:30 AM EDT) -- Continuing its recent corporate shopping spree, computer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. on Monday announced plans to purchase security and compliance software maker ArcSight Inc. for $1.5 billion.

HP said it will commence an all-cash tender offer that will put a value of $43.50 on ArcSight's stock. ArcSight closed trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange Friday at $35.10.
