Hottrix Says Hershey IPhone App Cost It $12M

Law360, New York (September 14, 2010, 1:55 PM EDT) -- Software company Hottrix LLC has poured on the counterclaims in a copyright battle with Hershey Co. over a chocolate milk iPhone application, arguing it suffered more than $12.3 million in damages when Hershey allegedly copied its program.

Hottrix filed the counterclaims Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Hershey first brought the suit in June when it asked the court to find that its iPhone application does not infringe Hottrix's copyright in a similar milk-themed program.
