Pipette Maker Claims Rival Infringed Patents

Law360, New York (February 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pipette maker Rainin Instrument LLC filed suit against a rival laboratory tool manufacturer Monday, claiming infringement of five of its patents.

Rainin filed its complaint against Molecular BioProducts Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The complaint alleges that MBP’s “L” style pipette tips, which are sold for use with Rainin’s “LTS” pipettes, infringe Rainin’s patents.

“MBP regularly and deliberately places infringing products in the stream of commerce,” Rainin said in its complaint.
