Apotex, Wyeth Settle Suit Over Generic Effexor

Law360, New York (September 16, 2010, 2:36 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has signed off on a settlement between Apotex Inc. and Wyeth Inc. that brings an end to Wyeth's suit over Apotex's proposal to create a generic version of the popular antidepressant Effexor.

Apotex and Wyeth have reached a licensing agreement for the drug, and Apotex has agreed to withhold selling a generic version of Effexor until after the expiration of the three patents-in-suit, according to the agreement Judge Frederico A.
