Class Cert. Sought In Farmers Insurance Repricing Suit

Law360, New York (September 16, 2010, 2:57 PM EDT) -- A group of auto insurance policyholders has moved for class certification in a suit accusing Farmers Insurance Exchange of breaching policy contracts by repricing medical claims based on faulty database information and other factors.

Putative class representative Lawrence Countryman asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado on Wednesday to certify subclasses to cover three sets of Colorado auto insurance policyholders whose medical bills were not fully covered by Farmers, owner of fellow defendant Mid-Century Insurance Co.
