Ameriprise Workers Win Cert. In Login, Logout Suit

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Ameriprise Financial Inc. employees have won collective certification in a suit alleging the financial planning company failed to to pay them overtime for time spent logging in to and out of computer and telephone systems at the beginning and end of their scheduled shifts.

Judge Richard H. Kyle of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota signed off Monday on the conditional certification of the action, filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
