Watchell Reps Capital IQ's $300M TheMarkets.Com Buy

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 6:05 PM EDT) -- Standard & Poor's financial data provider, Capital IQ, has reached an agreement to acquire research company TheMarkets.com in an all-cash deal reportedly worth $300 million.

Capital IQ said on Tuesday that it had bought research and estimates company TheMarkets.com, which supplies third-party equity and fixed income research, earnings models, and estimates to institutional investment management firms. The Wall Street Journal reported the $300 million figure, although a Capital IQ spokeswoman, citing company policy, would not confirm the amount.
