US Creditors Support AbitibiBowater Ch. 11 Plan

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 4:14 PM ET) -- AbitibiBowater Inc. said Tuesday that its U.S. creditors had approved its Chapter 11 restructuring plan and that the company intends to exit bankruptcy protection by the end of the year.

The approval by U.S. creditors comes just three days before a confirmation hearing on the plan in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and one week after the newsprint company's Canadian creditors approved the plan.
