JC Penney, Others Sued Over Procurement Tech Patents

Law360, New York (September 23, 2010, 4:35 PM EDT) -- Procurement technology company E-Lynxx Corp. has accused J.C. Penney Corp., the Standard Register Co. and several other data management companies of infringing two patents covering a computerized procurement system.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims the seven defendants use and sell data management databases that incorporate technology belonging to E-Lynxx.

Specifically, the defendants make systems for “competitive pricing and procurement of customized goods in a manner disclosed and protected against infringement” by U.S. Patent Numbers 7,451,106...
