NJ Fire Dept. Ordered To Expand Residency Rule

Law360, New York (September 23, 2010, 4:12 PM EDT) -- The federal judge overseeing a class action brought by the NAACP over a residency requirement for job applicants at North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue in Hudson County, N.J., has permanently enjoined the department from hiring new candidates until it allows applicants from three additional counties.
