Sens. Urge Obama To Axe Afghanistan Spending IG

Law360, New York (September 23, 2010, 6:54 PM EDT) -- A bipartisan group of senators on Thursday urged President Barack Obama to dismiss the government official responsible for investigating federal spending in Afghanistan amid concerns that he has grossly mismanaged his office.

The group, which includes U.S. Senators Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., Tom Coburn, R-Okla., Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, sent a letter asking the president to remove Arnold Fields as the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction.
