9th Circ. Affirms $7.7M FLSA Award V. Chinese Paper

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 6:37 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a $7.7 million award to San Francisco and Los Angeles employees of a Chinese-language newspaper who claimed they were required to work overtime without pay, and denied meal breaks and itemized pay stubs.

The decision, handed down Monday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, closes a six-year legal battle begun by three Chinese Daily News employees who were later joined by more than 100 others.
