Raytheon Files Suit Over Trade Secrets, Patents

Law360, New York (March 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Military contractor Raytheon Corp. has filed a lawsuit against a rival, alleging the company hired away more than 30 Raytheon employees, who took trade secrets and patents with them.

The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleges that rival Flir Systems—which acquired Indigo Systems in 2004—had an unfair advantage when bidding for contracts because it didn’t have to put time and money into research and development. Instead, it stole ideas and products from Raytheon.
