House Eyes Broader Iran Sanctions

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 3:26 PM EDT) -- Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., is pushing a bill to expand the scope of sanctions against those that do business with Iran to include foreign subsidiaries of U.S. companies, state and federal contractors, and entities with long-term oil and gas contracts or joint ventures with nationalized Iran companies.

Sherman, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee's subcommittee on terrorism, nonproliferation and trade, introduced H.R. 6296, the Stop Iran's Nuclear Weapons Program Act, late Wednesday.
