General Dynamics Faces CAA Suit Over Ship Engines

Law360, New York (October 4, 2010, 2:34 PM EDT) -- The U.S. has accused a subsidiary of EnPro Industries Inc. and a General Dynamics Corp. unit of making and installing engines for Navy ships that don't meet environmental standards, marking the government's first action to enforce marine diesel engine pollution rules.

The complaint, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, argues that EnPro-owned Coltec Industries Inc. violated the CAA by selling 32 engines that had not been certified as compliant with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's marine diesel engine standards....
