Comcast MDL Class Alters Claims To Avoid Arbitration

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 1:42 PM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in a multidistrict class action alleging Comcast Corp. ties its premium cable service to its set-top boxes have revised their complaint, ditching three claims the company has been trying to force them to arbitrate out of court.

The plaintiffs, all Comcast customers, filed a second amended complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Thursday, removing the three claims Comcast had sought to arbitrate and adding a number of others under state competition laws.
