Port Authority Short Changes Female Attys: EEOC

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 4:26 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has come down on the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for allegedly paying female nonsupervisory attorneys less than their male counterparts and weeding out older employees.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claims that the Port Authority’s employment practices violate the Equal Pay Act as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
