Law360, New York (October 05, 2010, 4:21 PM ET) -- Fifteen companies cited by the U.S. government for violating federal labor laws received some $6 billion in government contracts last year, according to a new report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
The companies each received between $200,000 and $4 billion in government contracts in fiscal year 2009, despite having been cited repeatedly by federal agencies for failing to follow federally enforced wage, benefit, collective bargaining, health and safety laws, Congress’ investigative arm said in the report, which was released to the public Friday.
