Fla. Co. Fined $90K For Alleged Export Violations

Law360, New York (October 4, 2010, 4:04 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has levied fines totaling $90,000 on International Photo Equipment Co. Inc. and its president, who were accused of knowingly exporting regulated goods through Lebanon to Syria in violation of federal laws.

Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security posted a copy of the charging letters and the settlement agreements resolving the allegations Thursday on its Web site.

Under the terms of the settlements, the BIS will waive $20,000 of the $45,000 penalty against Adam Karesh, IPE's president, if he avoids future violations...
