France Telecom Faces Antitrust Probe Over Bundling

Law360, New York (October 4, 2010, 1:50 PM EDT) -- France's competition watchdog says it is moving forward with plans to investigate possible competition conflicts arising from a new convergence product offered by France Telecom, the country's leading telecommunications firm.

The Autorite de la concurrence, or Competition Authority, confirmed Monday that it will speak to the company's executives about their plans for a so-called "quadruple play" offer, which bundles mobile, landline, Internet and television connections. The offer comes on the heels of similar products released by competitors Bouygues Telecom and SFR.
