US Ecology Pays $500K For Hazardous Waste Leaks

Law360, New York (October 6, 2010, 3:14 PM EDT) -- US Ecology Inc. has agreed to fork over roughly $500,000 to federal regulators to settle claims of rampant hazardous waste violations at a facility in western Nevada.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Wednesday that it fined the radioactive and hazardous waste company $498,000 for shoddy operations at the treatment plant, which US Ecology has since shut down.
