Unitek, DirectSat Face OT Action By DC Workers

Law360, New York (October 6, 2010, 4:45 PM EDT) -- A group of satellite TV installers and repairmen in the Washington, D.C., metro area has filed a collective action against Unitek Global Services Inc. and its subsidiary for allegedly failing to pay them overtime, the latest in a string of wage-and-hour actions against the technology engineering company.

In addition to failing to pay overtime, Unitek and subsidiary DirectSat USA LLC encouraged employees to falsify their time sheets and to perform vehicle maintenance, take dispatchers’ calls, map job routes and prepare and load satellites into their cars...
