AT&T, Comcast, Others Targeted In VoIP Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 7, 2010, 2:09 PM EDT) -- Ceres Communications Technologies LLC has accused more than 20 telecommunications providers, including AT&T Inc., Skype Inc. and Time Warner Cable Inc., of infringing a patent encompassing Voice over Internet Protocol and related phone services.

Ceres lodged a complaint Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, saying it will suffer irreparable harm unless 23 phone and cable company defendants are enjoined from selling products that use technologies such as VoIP to offer phone services over nontelephone networks.
