FDA To Revamp Regulatory Science Agenda

Law360, New York (October 8, 2010, 2:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has unveiled a plan to bolster its efforts to advance regulatory science, including the development of new tools and standards for assessing the safety of prescription drugs and medical devices.

The initiative was released Wednesday in a report titled “Advancing Regulatory Science for Public Health” and calls for the agency to spend millions of dollars to help deliver safer products to Americans in seven different public health areas.
