Ohio Settles Time Warner Suit For $144M

Law360, New York (March 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A historic $144 million payout by Time Warner Inc. to settle a securities fraud case with Ohio’s public employees sent a “loud and clear message” to corporate America, the state’s top law enforcer said Wednesday.

“If you abuse the public trust and steal from the taxpayers, you will pay the price,” Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann warned big business from his Cleveland office. “We will not tolerate fraud, stock manipulation or deceit in this state.”
