Manatt To Pay Fine For Role In NY Pension Scandal

Law360, New York (October 12, 2010, 6:23 PM EDT) -- Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP has agreed to fork over $550,000 for misconduct uncovered in New York Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo’s ongoing probe into financial companies that sought investments from public pension funds without a securities license.

In addition to the payout, Los Angeles-based Manatt has agreed to a five-year ban from appearing before any public pension fund in New York, Cuomo said in a statement Tuesday.
