At Beijing Meeting, Sen. Baucus Says Yuan Must Go Up

Law360, New York (October 13, 2010, 6:38 PM EDT) -- China needs to work on driving the value of the yuan up so that the U.S. can compete fairly, a high-ranking U.S. senator told China's Vice Premier Wang Qishan and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi at a meeting in Beijing.

Sen. Max Baucus, the Democrat who chairs the Senate Finance Committee, made his push for a higher yuan in Beijing Tuesday, pushing the top politicians to recognize the “urgent need for China to allow its currency to appreciate.”
