Spat Erupts Over Lead Status In China North Lawsuit

Law360, New York (October 14, 2010, 4:10 PM EDT) -- A lawyer for an electrical engineer on Thursday pressed for lead counsel status in a securities case against China North East Petroleum Holdings Ltd., despite a judge’s note that another group had much higher total losses.

Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum heard arguments in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York over the appointment of a lead plaintiff in the proposed securities class action against the Chinese oil producer, ultimately asking that more information be submitted before she rules.
