DOL Unveils Rule Increasing Disclosure Of 401(k) Fees

Law360, New York (October 15, 2010, 1:17 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has released a new regulation requiring employers to share more details with workers about the fees and expenses attached to their 401(k) retirement savings plans, in hopes of helping plan participants make more informed decisions about their investment options.

DOL's Employee Benefits Security Administration announced on Thursday the final rule on 401(k) fee disclosures, which implements provisions of H.R. 4213, the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act of 2010, signed into law in July.
