Houston Jury Pool Not Too Tainted For Stanford: DOJ

Law360, New York (October 22, 2010, 7:07 PM EDT) -- Accused $8 billion Ponzi schemer Robert Allen Stanford has fallen far short of proving that ceaseless media coverage has hopelessly biased a Houston jury pool against him, government prosecutors have said.

Stanford requested that his trial be moved out of Houston earlier this month, but the government fired back in a Thursday motion that precedent is not on Stanford's side, according to papers filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
