Law360, New York (October 25, 2010, 1:03 PM ET) -- Tesoro Corp. has challenged a $2.39 million fine for allegedly violating several health and safety regulations that Washington state regulators claim could have prevented a deadly explosion in April at the company's Anacortes, Wash., refinery.
The Washington Department of Labor and Industries said Friday that the company had appealed the fine, which the department issued earlier in October after a six-month investigation into the blast that killed seven people.
