Cigna Sued Over Treatment For Eating Disorders

Law360, New York (March 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- On Friday, Cigna Healthcare became the third health insurance company to be sued over its coverage of patients with eating disorders, after two people filed a proposed class action against the health insurance provider.

In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Fred Kramer and Francis De Vito alleged that Cigna did not fully cover medical expenses related to their daughters’ eating disorders. Both were covered by Cigna policies.
