Law360, New York (March 13, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Pacific Gas & Electric Co. has shot off a lawsuit against the U.S., alleging the government broke federal contracts by overcharging Pacific Gas and another California utility for wholesale electricity during the power crisis in 2000 and 2001.
The San Francisco-based utility, along with Southern California Edison Co., lodged the suit Monday in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and asked for damages and declaratory relief against the U.S. for unjust electric power sales made by two government agencies.
