NH Ammunition Maker Fined $1.2M After Deadly Blast

Law360, New York (October 25, 2010, 4:27 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has doled out a $1.2 million fine to gunpowder substitute manufacturer Black Mag LLC for safety violations that allegedly caused a deadly explosion at a Colebrook, N.H., plant.

Following an investigation into the causes of the blast, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Monday that it issued 54 workplace safety and health citations against the company.

OSHA cited the company for four egregious willful, 12 willful, 36 serious and two other-than-serious violations with total penalties of $1.2 million.
