FirstEnergy, Allegheny Reach Deal In $9B Pa. Merger

Law360, New York (October 25, 2010, 7:10 PM EDT) -- FirstEnergy Corp. and Allegheny Energy Inc. have submitted a settlement with 18 parties to their merger in Pennsylvania to the state Public Utility Commission as the companies work to shore up regulatory approval for their $8.5 billion tie-up.

The settlement, which the companies filed Monday, resolves all the issues raised by the 18 parties in the FirstEnergy-Allegheny Energy merger case before the PUC, the companies said.
