Thomson Seeks 337 Probe Into Taiwanese LCD Imports

Law360, New York (October 26, 2010, 3:36 PM EDT) -- Thomson Licensing SAS has filed a new petition asking the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate three Taiwanese electronics makers for possible infringement of liquid crystal display patents.

Qisda Corp., BenQ Corp., AU Optronics Corp. and several of those companies' units violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing televisions, monitors and related products that infringe Thomson's U.S. Patent Numbers 5,978,063; 5,621,556; and 5,375,006, according to a complaint lodged Friday.
